Not only am I reading but I’m also participating in posting blogs about the read-a-thon event. We’re at the mid-way point so below is my answer to the survey. Mind you, I was a wee bit late getting started so I’ve only now finished my first book. It’s fun. If you haven’t done one of these, you might consider it.
What are you reading right now?
In the middle of looking for the next book. Think I’ll read Tethered: A Novel by Amy MacKinnon.
How many books have you read so far?
Just closed the book on Today Matters by John Maxwell. One.
What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
I’m allowing myself to move from fiction to nonfiction and be spontaneous so that’s probably what really intrigues me. What will I read next?
Made any special arrangements to free up your whole day?
First, I forgot. So I’m running a good 3 hours behind. I’ve also had to take time out to take care of some things that required attention. But I did clear the deck on other work that I’d planned. Though I have to say my first book was on this week’s To Do list.
Had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
The biggest interruptions come from caring for my 95 year old mom and the six dogs who seem to think they need to go outside occasionally. But that’s fine. A break now and then works out fine. I did turn the phone volume down to nothing.
Surprises about the Read-a-thon, so far?
Don’t know that I’m surprised but I’m definitely pleased that I’m enjoying the process and the camraderie from the read-a-thon group on Twitter.
Suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
I just wish I’d remembered. Not sure how that could be handled. Probably more something I should do.
What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?
Get my act together and pull a few books ahead of time, although this spontaneous selection is fun.
Are you getting tired yet?
No way. I love reading and am totally enjoying the experience.
Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?
Probably not unless they haven’t considered choosing the books spontaneously or maybe seeing what it’s like to go back and forth from fiction to nonfiction.
