Time out from reading to play the Read-a-thon meme.
Where are you reading from today?
Deep in the southern part of Texas, in the Gulfcoast area, Houston to be specific. So far I’ve spent time reading in the reclining massage chair and sitting on a stump outside with Teddy, my Shih Tsu, and HoneyBun, my 3.5 lb Miki.
3 facts about me …
(1) I am accompanied by six dogs: Waco the Great Pyrennes, Charlie the Pug, Riley the Cocker Spaniel, Teddy the Shih Tsu, Freddie the Maltese, and HoneyBun the Miki.
(2) For the last ten years being the primary caretaker for my parents has been a primary focus of my live. I now live with my 95-year old mom and her two cats in the home where I spent my teen years.
(3) I’m an Army brat and a writer.
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
My TBR is less a pile and more a mountain but at the moment I’m reading Today Matters by John Maxwell.
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
No numbers but I plan to Tweet and blog periodically and finish at least two of the books on this week’s ToDo list and then explore the mountain.
If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
First time for this official readathon but I’m no stranger to self-proclaimed readathons. As a kid I designated Saturdays as readathon days and ran a reading race with myself. I remember one Saturday crowing that I’d read 21 books. Indulge your passion, immerse yourself in the author’s world, partake in the conversation.
Started late and still on first book: Today Matters: 12 Daily Practices to Guarantee Tomorrow’s Success (Maxwell, John C). (Please say hello. Love to hear from you. To leave comments, click on title and scroll down page.)
